About the role:

Meli Kindergartens are a leading Early Years Management organisation with 30 kindergartens located across Geelong, Bellarine Peninsula, and Colac. Our belief is all children have a great start at life.

We are seeking suitably qualified Early Childhood Teachers and Educators to join our casual relief team. We are particularly keen to expand our number of Diploma qualified educators, but all Early Childhood Education qualifications are of interest to us. We welcome conversations from Teachers and Educators who are newly qualified, looking to rejoin the workforce, and those who have experience. If you are looking for flexibility to work in a casual capacity and variety in your week, this could be the right opportunity for you!

As an Early Childhood Teacher or Educator, you will contribute to the development and implementation of high quality, innovative and inclusive early childhood education programs that meets the approved learning frameworks and National Quality Standards. Being part of a relief team, no two weeks are the same. It's a fantastic learning opportunity as you work alongside many different teachers and educators who are in varying stages of their careers, sharing their knowledge and supporting one another.

About you:

To be successful in the role, you will have:

Early Childhood Teachers:

  • A Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or equivalent as approved by ACECQA and suitable pursuant to the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 and the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011).
  • Current VIT registration.
  • Current HLTAID012 First Aid certificate including annually updated CPR certificate, asthma and anaphylaxis certificates. 
  • Meli is a Child Safe Organisation; you have the ability to uphold the requirements of child safety, and knowledge of the legislative requirements, frameworks, and standards of an early learning environment (or capacity to learn this).
  • Ability to plan, prioritise tasks and meet required timeframes.
  • Ability to work independently and co-operatively in a team environment.
  • The capacity to be flexible – you may be working at more than one kindergarten on any given week.
  • Experience working with children.

Early Childhood Educators - Certificate III or Diploma:

  • Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education (or equivalent as approved by ACECQA and suitable pursuant to the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 and the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011).
  • Current Working with Children Check.
  • Current HLTAID012 First Aid certificate including annually updated CPR certificate, asthma and anaphylaxis certificates.
