At Meli, we believe that every child deserves the best possible start in life—and we’re looking for dedicated Diploma qualified - Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Colac East Kindergarten, on a part time, fixed term basis.

About the Role

As a Diploma qualified Early Childhood Educator, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality, inclusive early childhood education programs that align with the approved learning frameworks and National Quality Standards.
  • Contribute to engaging, play-based environments that foster children’s curiosity, creativity, and development.
  • Work alongside passionate educators and teachers, sharing knowledge, learning from diverse experiences, and contributing to strong educational outcomes.
  • Support children’s growth through positive role modelling, relationship building, and evidence-based teaching practices.
  • Gain exposure to a variety of learning environments, enhancing your skills and professional development through diverse experiences.

Whether you’re newly qualified, an experienced educator, or returning to the sector, this role offers the chance to contribute meaningfully to the lives of young children and their families.

Position Details

  • Fixed term position until 12 May 2026
  • Working Monday - Thursday: 8:45am till 3pm (25 hours per week)
  • Salary as per VECTEA 2020 - $27.14 to $29.24 p/h (depending on experience and qualification)

What We're Looking For

We value individuals who bring dedication, empathy, and expertise to their roles. To succeed in this position, you will have:

  • A relevant qualification in Early Childhood Education (Diploma or equivalent as approved by ACECQA and suitable pursuant to the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 and the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011) 
  • A valid Working with Children Check
  • Knowledge of the National Education and Care Services Act and Regulations 2011 and the Victorian Early Years Learning Framework and ECEC National Quality Framework and Standards
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to adapt to different teams and settings.
  • A passion for supporting children’s development through creative, reflective, and responsive teaching practices.
